Thanks for giving Chase an opportunity to speak to sensible, broadly acceptable ideas. He's a good guy, sadly operating in a dysfunctional party fighting itself and losing its identity. This is a good interview and it is good hearing him articulate some important basic ideas - from immigration to war - and explaining his progression to joining the LP.
As Milton Friedman pointed out many years ago: The Welfare State and Open Borders don’t mix. If want more immigration get rid of the Welfare State first.
No one is going to build a wall around the Welfare State. What they will continue to do is let in poor migrants. The US does not need immigrants (legal or illegal) that are a net burden to taxpayers!! In case you haven’t noticed, we have plenty of poor in the US already, we don’t need to import more of them.

I'd rather build a wall around the welfare state than the United States. Probably easier to do, too. Immigrants, legal and illegal, use tax dollars at lower rates than natives.
